Let's talk about the Boiron family! Do you know them? Are you familiar with the Bosquet des Papes estate? It's a famous winegrowing family that's been around for 5 generations. In this article, I'll tell you about the history of this family, as well as the description, tasting and terroirs of their superb Châteauneuf du Pape cuvées.
History of the estate:
In 1860, thanks to great-grandfather Emmanuel Boiron's first investments in local vineyards, the son Joseph-Victor and the grandson Josephfollow in his footsteps and end up by creating theClos" entity Chantemerle. In 1936, it was the turn of successive generations, each in turn expanding the estate with respect for the terroir and high quality production in mind. Joseph's son Maurice contributed to the building of the ten-hectare estate, renaming it in 1966 under the name of "Bosquet des Papes". At the time, the estate's holdings comprised 27 hectares of Châteauneuf du Pape. Since 1995, Maurice's son Nicolas has run the estate, purchasing 3 hectares of Côtes du Rhône and 4.5 hectares of Châteauneuf du Pape. With Jeanne-Claire, they want to make sure they bring modernity, an alliance with the evolution of progress and respect for tradition; a tradition that motivates people to taste great wine.
According to them, "Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a grand cru, one of the best in the world; we are proud of it and we invite you to share our passion and our taste for wine with us on the pages of our website.
